Increasing global demand for food and energy is placing pressure on agricultural and environmental systems as well as innovators. The global population is expected to continue to grow over the next century, as will the demand for better nutrition, energy, and quality of life for the people already here.  In addition, we all want to live sustainably in a clean environment.

Our clients are developing technologies to address these challenges on a global scale, and we are designing the IP strategy to protect them.  Such as:

  • Plants with enhanced potential to be used as sources of renewable and sustainable fuel, such as oilseed crops, algae and grasses. 

  • Plants designed to increase crop yield, with improved tolerance to stress, drought, and disease, and enhanced nitrogen usage.

  • Plants genetically modified to produce vitamins and proteins for use in preventing diseases of malnutrition, or for safer and more sustainable use in biotechnology. 

  • Improved methods of making the concrete that is the foundation of our built environment, with lower energy cost and fewer industrial by-products.
